SINGER NINE
Convertible 4A (1952)
1952 Singer Nine 4A Roadster in Red with red interior. The original Singer 9 Roadster was launched in March 1939; production was suspended for the duration of the Second World War then restarted. The Model was upgraded in 1949 to the 4 A version and was given a 4-speed gearbox and the 1074 cc engine was moved forward to create a roomier 2 door 4-seater interior, furthermore the hood and side screens are so designed as to provide closed car comfort when the weather is unfavourable to open air motoring. With the hood raised and screens in position the roadster retains its sporting lines and at the same time gives protection with ample head room. This wonderful example, which shows signs of an older restoration that is standing the test of time is finished in red with a red interior with a black hood (we know the car has side screens we are just trying to locate them) this Singer was registered in February 1952 to a Mr. Laurence Ellis of Great Sutton, who kept till December 1952, 31 years in total. It was then purchased by a Mr. Harold Jones of Wrexham, it then changed to a Mr. Vic Morris of Oswestry, and it was acquired by a Mr. Peter Smith of Skipton and then on to Brian O’Donnel in 2015 a founder of Memory Lane Classics who used the car as a show vehicle. Upon test drive this car was a real pleasure to drive, turning heads and attracting waves. Perfect for the coming summer months she drives with a strong engine which is capable of keeping up with modern traffic. A great 4 seater convertible ready to be enjoyed and enjoy taking friends and family out in. Any inspection welcome. All major debit cards accepted. UK mainland delivery included.
