1972 Rover P5B Saloon in Arden Green with a cream roof with Stone leather interior. Known as the P5B, the Rover 3.5 Litre Saloon exudes British craftsmanship of the period, offering roomy four to five seat accommodation, trimmed in leather with good quality carpeting and a wood fascia on which is mounted a binnacle housing any instrumentation and switches required. Small wonder that the space and comfort so afforded made this motor car the choice of royalty and ministers of the time. Powered by a Rover V8 engine.
It rides on period-correct Rostyle wheels that are shod with Federal tyres all-round. In 2005 it was treated to a ‘sympathetic restoration’ by TR Classic of Oosterhout in the Netherlands, where at the time the Rover was owned by a local hotel and used as a wedding car. It was acquired by the previous owner in May 2020, who meticulously maintained and recently equipped the car with new rear wheel cylinders, water pump, brake fluid reservoir, over-mats, an H4 headlight conversion and new period-style seat belts. Among the car’s many notable features are a stainless steel exhaust system, battery isolation switch, and original Radiomobile 1070 radio converted to FM and equipped with auxiliary cable. The car comes with a comprehensive history folder with photos and a USB of the restoration. The car comes with am valid to February 19, 2024 with no advisories.
These large and imposing Rovers still look excellent value, this fine example, with its comprehensive history is well worth close inspection. We think this is a car that any collector or enthusiast would be pleased to own. Upon test drive this Rover drove just as she should with a strong engine mated to a smooth automatic gearbox making it a very usable classic and very comfortable for long distance journeys as well as a local run around.
